This 1968 limited promotional single serves up an incredibly catchy slice of mid-century psychedelic advertising pop history. Commissioned for the West End Brewing Company (makers of Utica Club Beer), this self-titled label release features "The UTCNCB Drinking Song" on the A-side. Written and produced by the acclaimed commercial jingle composer Sasha Burland, the track was actually recorded by the Chicago rock band The Trolls under contract for RCA Custom. Distributed originally to visitors touring the Utica brewery, the song features a "mod," Laugh-In style dance arrangement that became an regional television staple.
