Before exploding onto the international charts a decade later as O.C. Smith, the powerhouse vocalist recorded this exceptional slice of late-1950s rhythm and blues under his given name, Ocie Smith. Released on Archie Bleyer’s influential Cadence label , this specific USA pressing features a unique title variation on the A-side, listing the track simply as "Lighthouse" rather than the fuller title "The Lighthouse" found on other regional label runs.
