A brilliantly infectious, horn-driven masterpiece co-written by Eugene Record and Barbara Acklin. In a famous twist of Hitsville-era studio lore, the track utilizes the exact same backing recording as Acklin's vocal hit "Am I the Same Girl," merely replacing her lead track with a blazing piano line. The irresistible, finger-snapping groove became a massive crossover sensation, soaring to number three on both the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B charts. This vintage USA pressing is from MCA's renowned Pinckneyville, Illinois plant.
