1995 promotional edition of LL Cool J’s historic debut single "I Need A Beat" that represents a fascinating piece of underground hip-hop history. Originally dropping in 1984 as the monumental release that launched both LL Cool J’s career and the Def Jam empire, this particular 7" 45 RPM version was custom-pressed over a decade later. Issued by Def Jam Recordings and the specialized Def Jam Phactory imprint, this ghost-press was manufactured exclusively as a physical entry pass for a private, mid-90s corporate holiday party. It is an incredible crossover piece for traditional boom-bap purists, radio archivists, and serious hip-hop historians looking for a unique piece of label lore
